    CITY ENGINEERS & ARCHITECTS CAMP
    Explore the structures and landscapes of a city: Campers will work in teams to design and build the city of their dreams, using LEGO® bricks! The architects may plan a road, propose a monument, design a park or school, or imagine a skyscraper. Builders will put on their "safety hats" and assemble motorized models of construction vehicles & equipment, build a city zoo, city amusement park & more! Our specialized model plans incorporate beams, gears, axles, motors, battery packs and other technic LEGO® components. All campers will go home with a custom mini-figure at the end of the week!

    STOP MOTION ANIMATION MOVIE MAKING CAMP
    Lights, camera, action! Be your own movie producer! Participants will use LEGO® bricks to tell their story complete with music, special effects and all your favorite LEGO® mini- figure characters and friends! As well as plan, script, stage, shoot, and produce their own mini-movie using Stop Motion Animation. Participants will be given creative freedom to make a movie about what interests them! Working as a team, they will use LEGO® components to build the set and props, and then shoot their movie using a camera. Teams will use movie-making software to add special effects, titles, credits and more. Participants take home their movies on their very own flash drive (provided).

    SUPER HERO SCIENCE CAMP
    Can’t fly? Don’t have laser eyes? No problem - some of the coolest superheroes make amazing gadgets and use scientific principles to stop the bad guys and solve crimes. Participants will be doing just that and more using LEGO® Bricks and some ingenuity as well as the use of proprietary kits and model plans to build one-of-a-kind super hero creations & gadgets! Whether you are a master crime-fighting builder or not, you’ll have a blast learning, building, and playing with other superheroes-in-the-making.

    Our Math Plays classes will be running virtually for the second Summer session (7/23-8/13) Registration deadline is July 20, Noon. No refunds will be given after deadline.

    Each week parents will receive an email with a lesson plan as well as prerecorded videos, enrichments, and explanations for the activities. Parents and students will be able to pause the videos when they need to and will be able to complete the activities, games, and crafts at their convenience. They can take the lesson apart and do a bit every day or just run through it all in the time span that we would in class.     (Parent/Tot - 18 months-2 years)
    This class is designed for parents/guardians and children to start using "math talk" as they participate in math concepts necessary for beginning math success. Concepts may include colors, shapes, counting, one-to-one correspondence, matching, sorting and classifying.

    MATH PLAYS II
    (Parent/Tot - 2-3 years)
    This class is designed for parents/guardians and children to continue using "math talk" as they participate in math concepts necessary for continued math success. Concepts may include colors, shapes, counting, one-to-one correspondence, matching, sorting and classifying. Concepts will build on those practiced in Math Play I; however you do not have to take Math Play I to be eligible for II.

    Young Rembrandts Summer On-Demand Drawing
    5 Classes for the price of 4!

    Stimulate those brains! Screen time shouldn't be just watching TV - come draw with Young Rembrandts and get 5 full hours of developing vocabulary, fine motor skills and art techniques. Each time your child takes a class, they will be walking away with a complete piece of artwork. Participants will receive 5 class links and can view each lesson any time at their convenience, up to 5 different times with pause and rewind. Try one or both of these 2 fun classes!

    NATURE STARS
    Sharpen those minds and those pencils! Starting June 15, participants will be exploring the colorful world of nature by drawing different types of bugs, iconic summer camp scenes and beautiful exotic animals like killer whales and flamingos. We can’t wait to draw with you!

    PETS IN ACTION
    Make quarantine more colorful! Starting July 13, participants will draw some funny animal pets as well as an adorable pet shop scene. We’ll be learning a lot about personification, expressions and color work as we complete our talking animals and intricate aquarium scene. We are excited to have you draw with us!

    SMART START ART CAMP
    "Every child is an artist" - Pablo Picasso. Explore your artistic side with this new camp. Discover your creativity and imagination as an artist, developing fine motor skills, style, and vision as we explore different artistic techniques through a variety of inspiring projects. Sketch and draw, shade and color, cut, glue, fold... create! See your imagination come to life! Learn about great artists from throughout history and the present day, through a weekly featured artist and fun, exciting games. Earn ArtBelts as you learn and progress. No experience necessary.

    LET’S BUILD IT CAMP: CHAIN REACTIONS IN ACTION!
    The ball rolls down the ramp, turns the switch, that moves the post, that activates the zip-line,that knocks the ball down the ramp and into the goal! In this STEAM camp, participants will be building Rube Goldberg "Mouse Trap" chain-reaction machines featuring levers, pulleys, and other simple machines. Engineering and physics concepts will be introduced and reinforced through hands-on, innovative lessons and creative play time. Problem solving skills and teamwork will be put to the test as the complexity of the projects increases. On the final class, there will be a building competition. No previous experience is necessary. Just a desire to learn and build. Participants in similar age ranges will be grouped together. Each student will receive an award on the last day of the session, and have the opportunity to earn Energy Belts to demonstrate their learned skills!

    ALL ACCESS VIRTUAL ENRICHMENT
    Afterschool Enrichment Solutions, in conjunction with the Western Springs Rec Dept, is offering an All Access Virtual Enrichment Pass. Courses include: Smart Start Art, Stage Stars, Amigos Spanish, Chess and STEM programming. These exciting courses will provide a mix of hands-on activities, digital workbooks and live instruction via video calls with education professionals (conveniently scheduled every day at a variety of times throughout the week so you can choose a time that best works for you). Participants will receive access to all five classes list above for one price. New context will be available each week and every Friday you will receive an email with all the details (Zoom links, video etc.) for the following week.

Participants will learn about real-life space exploration during our engaging lessons. Using our proprietary project kits and model plans, they will use their engineering skills to build different moving models. We’ll build motorized models that represent spacecraft from your favorite popular space movie as well as models related to the NASA space program. Our one-of-a-kind models incorporate beams, gears, axles, motors & battery packs! Participants will also learn some of the science behind launching things into orbit, hear about the most-distant man-made object in the universe, and discuss what it is like to be an astronaut in space. We’ll provide the bricks; all you need to bring for this adventure is your imagination!

    PRESCHOOL DRAWING
    Encourage your preschooler’s enthusiasm for art. This class will introduce drawing lessons that will excite your budding artist. A vibrant drawing of a rainbow will introduce participants to the wonderful world of color. An illustration of an airplane will take them to new heights. A delicious-looking drawing of an ice cream sundae will delight those with a sweet tooth, and learning to draw a friendly lion has never been more fun. These are just a few of the many great lessons our students will learn.

    ELEMENTARY DRAWING
    This class will present drawing lessons that encompass a fascinating world of color, pattern, and design. Participants will strengthen their marker rendering skills as they draw a detailed gumball machine. A drawing of a sandwich will make them hunger for more art. We’ll travel back in time to the age of the pharaohs as we illustrate a decorative, Egyptian headdress. An illustration celebrating the fall season will introduce our colorists to warm and cool colors. All this and more await your child in this class!

This class will also include holiday themed jewelry making. Your fun wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the hair salon, where you will find a variety of hair clips and ribbons perfect for any Fall Festival celebration.
