    CHESSIE'S RESTAURANT TRAIN CAR DINING LUNCH TRIP
    Chessie’s was built around Barrington’s historic train depot that was brought to the Ice House Mall and made into the home of Chessie’s. A 1920 Illinois commuter train car serves as Chessie’s dining car; outside the restaurant and on the Mall grounds sits a full size Chesapeake & Ohio Caboose Car. Inside the lounge is a miniature train that runs on request. The menu offers something for every taste and event including appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Fee covers transportation only. Bus leaves from and returns to the Park District of LaGrange. Registration deadline: January 10th. No refunds after deadline.

    PILOT PETE'S LUNCH TRIP
    Spend the afternoon at Chicagoland’s only Aviation Themed Eatery and enjoy flavors from around the world. This restaurant is an aviator lover’s dream. The decor is filled with all types of photos, postcards, and memorabilia from the great aviator known as "Pilot Pete." The huge dining room offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Schaumburg Airport runway where you will see all types of private and corporate aircraft departing and landing. You may even see the local news channel helicopters and old military aircraft that frequently fly into the airport. Fee covers transportation only. Bus leaves from and returns to the Park District of LaGrange. Registration deadline Feb. 14. No refunds after deadline.

    260753 - SPELLING BEE

    The Recreation Department will be hosting a Spelling Bee on Thursday, March 1, from 7:00-9:00pm at the Grand Avenue Community Center, 4211 Grand Avenue. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and money for honeybee research with all proceeds being donated to those endeavors. Although this event is free, donations to protect the honeybees will be accepted at the door. All ages are welcome to attend and encouraged to participate. Prizes will be awarded. The co-organizer of this event, Bernadette Maio, is a local high school student and finalist in the 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee. Number of contestant are limited to 30; spectators are limited to 50. You may register at the door if space is available.
