GIRLS SPRING 2020 LACROSSE LEAGUES
NEW REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR GIRLS LACROSSE LEAGUES AND LITTLE LAXERS!
We have simplified the registration process for the girls’ lacrosse program at Western Springs! Registration is now a 1 step process. All registrations will be made through www.iglax.org. Please make sure to select "Western Spring" as your community, located under the "West" section.
Be part of a youth lacrosse league exclusively for girls from Chicago, north, northwest, west, and south suburbs. The goals of the program are to teach players understand of the rules; and to promote active teamwork and sportsmanship. We will foster personal development in a respectful environment - all led by positive coaching. IGLA is adopting the US Lacrosse "PLAYERS FIRST" ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT MODEL which means smaller fields and a smaller number of players. The girls become more engaged, get more touches on the ball, and further develop their skills. Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association www.iglax.org runs the league, schedules games and hires high school lacrosse coaches.
IGLA offers two levels of league play. Both are recreational, community lacrosse. Pink teams practice once a week. Purple teams practice twice a week and may travel more for games. If considering Purple, players must first attend an assessment (visit www.iglax.org for dates and locations) where participants are assessed on stick skills and game play. Current Purple players do not need to attend an assessment and can register directly for the league.
PLEASE NOTE: Registrations are due on www.iglax.org by 3/15/20. No late registrations will be accepted.
Required equipment: A stick, goggles, and mouth guard.
League Uniform: IGLA pinny is required and may be purchased during registration at www.iglax.org.
