We will cover plate coverage and stance, stepping into a hitting position, hand path and lower body mechanics. There are hitting ‘absolutes’ that must be present in each at bat to be successful and these can make all the difference in your baseball career.

    140666 - DOG OBEDIENCE

    Is your dog becoming a monster and driving you crazy? Are you tired of being kept up all night from constant barking? If your home furnishings and personal belongings are being chewed up, or you just want basic commands mastered, sign up for this class. For beginners only, dogs must be at least four months old. Handlers must be old enough to handle dog in a group setting. The first class will be a two-hour orientation from 7:00-9:00 pm, without your dog. You must attend this informative meeting.
    ADVANCED CLASS: You must have completed the beginner course with our instructor or been evaluated by the trainer.

    SENIOR CENTER MEMBERSHIP
    Membership, which is open to the general public, provides participation in our community of activities and events geared specifically to the interests of the older adult. Membership also supports the need of seniors to socialize and make new friends. For more information, consult our website at www.wsprings.com/recreation under Senior Services or stop by during business hours to explore. We are located at the Grand Avenue Community Center, 4211 Grand Avenue, Western Springs, 2nd floor in the Neal Room (elevator access available).     GOLD level membership is $50/Residents, $60/Nonresidents and includes all activities including unlimited exercise and unlimited classes.

    SILVER level membership is $40/Residents, $50/Nonresidents and includes all activities except exercise and classes.

    BRONZE level membership is $20/Residents, $30/Nonresidents and includes library book borrowing, movie borrowing, movie watching, and regular bridge subs.

    Spouses are ˝ price for each level.

    Join us for a full morning of fun! We will create an enjoyable craft and make a delicious recipe from our Wee Gourmets class. A new craft and recipe will be introduced each week of each session. You can take this class for three years and not repeat a craft or recipe. Children take turns bringing a snack and drink to share with their classmates. Note: All recipes are nut free. Each session will be different as we introduce and reinforce upper case letters, numbers and counting, sequencing, lower case letters, word families, and consonant and vowel sounds. Our day also includes "Show and Tell," "Free Choice" time, and fun activities to enhance listening skills, sharing and socialization. The weekly take-home project will pertain to the day’s theme. Students take turns bringing a snack and drink to share with their classmates.
