    GYMNASTICS 101 - AGE: 4-6 YEARS
    Four events will be covered in this introductory class. Age appropriate tricks for bar, vault, floor and rings will be introduced. Students can learn the basic movements for each event in a well-supervised and safe environment.

    GYMNASTICS 102- AGE: 5-7 YEARS
    This class is an advancement from Gymnastics 102 with more technique. Prerequisite for this class is to perform a successful cartwheel, swing and supports on the bars and squat on the vault.

    WINTER BASKETBALL CLINICS
    For all of those who players who want to have fun and get better in the process, this is the camp for you. Christopher Spartz Basketball trainers are dedicated to teaching your child correct basketball techniques. Shooting mechanics, dribbling skills, floor awareness and the value of competing (specifically designed to transfer learned skills into game situations). The result will be increased skill level, improved confidence and enthusiasm for the game of basketball. Most of all, each child will completely enjoy each day of camp and will feel like they had the chance to learn, develop and compete. Nobody is left out and no potential goes undeveloped. Options: Week 1, Week 2, or combined Weeks 1-2 (discounted rate).

    The Ballerz workouts will be run by CSB elite trainers to ensure that your experience is fun and positive. In these formative years it is extremely imperative that your child receives the best teachers and learn the proper fundamentals to excel quicker. The sooner they see the gains, the more fun they have. Our points of emphasis will be: Fundamentals 101; how to have fun playing the game; how to create great habits; sportsmanship and game rules.     Let the first time your son or daughter pick up a basketball be with Christopher Spartz Basketball’s Lil Hoopers! This program is a great way to get acclimated with the premier basketball program of Western Springs at a young age. Designed for pre-school & kindergarten age children, these 45 minute clinics will provide a comfortable and fun group environment as participants learn the fundamentals of basketball. Each session will be overseen and run by a certified Christopher Spartz trainer and focus on learning the game, skill development, and providing a structured, engaging environment to get the children excited about the game of basketball.     PEEWEE VOLLEYBALL
    This is an introductory class for children in 1st-3rd grade. The lesson plan introduces the pass, set and spike using a very light volleyball. This class will improve each child’s hand-eye coordination and left/right coordination through the use of fun drills and games. Lesson plan also incorporates short educational drills including spelling, math and science.

    JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL SKILLS & DRILLS
    Improve your volleyball skills with 60 minutes of drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. The lesson plan directs the use of self-mastery training and groups that help each student reach a new level. You will also develop a good understanding of each position on offense and defense. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class.

    TRANSPORTATION TIMELINE
    Participants will explore the history of transportation from horse and buggy and trains to the development of the automobile and flight. Each lesson introduces terminology related to each mode of transportation, like ‘lift and propulsion’ for the airplane, as well as describes how each ‘vehicle’ works. And the best part is -- these models rock, roll and spin! Lots of building fun ahead with motorized models of a car, helicopter, airplane & more! Participants will use our proprietary project kits and model plans to build exciting moving LEGO® creations and incorporate gears, axles, motors & battery packs. Students will follow our step-by-step model plans to create their vehicle, then customize it to their own specifications and take a mini-figure for a ride!

    PICKLEBALL CLINIC-BEGINNER
    Looking to learn or advance your pickleball skills? It’s easy for beginners to learn this quick, fast-paced, competitive game. Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball in the style of tennis with some ping pong and badminton mixed in. Great exercise and a fun game. Some basic skills that are covered in class include: Posture, Ready Position, Grip/Paddle angle, Comfort zone, Dinks, Footwork for dinks, Push it Forward, Keep it Low, Scoring, 2 bounce rule, Forehand and backhand shots, 3rd shot drop, Lobs, Overheads, Court Positioning, Serve and Return of Serve. Equipment provided or bring your own.

    PICKLEBALL CLINIC-BEGINNER PLUS
    Have you taken our beginner Pickleball Clinic or do have a little playing experience? If you already know how to keep score, rotate, serve and have some gaming experience but need to improve your game and skills, this is the class for you!

    PICKLEBALL SKILLS AND DRILLS CHALLENGE
    This fun class is designed to take your skills to a new level through a variety of drills. Practicing these techniques can only add to your playing skills. Each week sets a new challenge and will help your skills in dinking, 3rd shot drop, lobs, forehand and backhand and serving. Equipment provided or bring your own.

    OPEN PICKLEBALL
    Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball in the style of tennis with some ping pong and badminton mixed in. Two to four courts are open for drop-in play. Check online gym schedules at www.wsprings.com/recreation. Equipment is provided so come prepared to play. No experience necessary. Daily - $5.00 pay at the door. Punch Cards - $35.00 (10 visits).

    140637 - YOUTH/ADULT KARATE

    These karate classes will put children in touch with their bodies and offer a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Children increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. Adult participants will release tension, develop total body fitness and build stamina and overall productivity! In addition to self-defense skills, karate increases flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and muscle tone, while improving core strength. Please note, that Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes may train together. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current sessions after the second class has met. Registration for continuing through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required.

    140666 - DOG OBEDIENCE

    Is your dog becoming a monster and driving you crazy? Are you tired of being kept up all night from constant barking? If your home furnishings and personal belongings are being chewed up, or you just want basic commands mastered, sign up for this class. For beginners only, dogs must be at least four months old. Handlers must be old enough to handle dog in a group setting. The first class will be a two-hour orientation from 7:00-9:00 pm, without your dog. You must attend this informative meeting.
    ADVANCED CLASS: You must have completed the beginner course with our instructor or been evaluated by the trainer.
