    225245 - LACROSSE-BOYS TRAVEL-WINTER/SPRING

    REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

    BOYS TRAVEL LACROSSE LEAGUE
    This program is designed for the more competitive lacrosse player in grades K-8. Commitment to the travel lacrosse program is a must.

    Registration begins December 1, 8:30am, online, fax or mail. Late fee of $50 beginning December 16.

    Uniform sizing, spirit wear, helmet stickers, volunteer signup, and meet the coaches and in person registration takes place on Monday, December 2, at 6:30-8:00 pm at Recreation Center, 1500 Walker St.

    REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, lacrosse or hockey helmet with face guard; shoulder pads, elbow pads, lacrosse gloves, and cup.

    Fees include game scheduling, fields, coaches, tournaments, referees & supplies. All dates, fees & info are subject to change.

    Cancellation fee before January 12: $150. After January 12, no refunds for cancellations. No exceptions.

    Program dates: January 12-June 7, 2020
    --Indoor travel practices start Sunday, January 12 thru March 15 at Westmont Yard. Exact times tbd (between 12 - 4pm).
    --Icebreaker tournament on January 20 in Glenview, IL.
    --Practices start outdoors 1st week of April (depending on weather & field availability).

    There will be 6-8 Home/Away Games for K-8th grade in the suburban area (mid-April thru June 7).

    Rip the Duck Tournament in South Bend, Indiana, May 2-3.
    Tower Tournament at Lyons Township High School scheduled on May 30.
    IBLA Playoffs June 6-7.

Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball in the style of tennis with some ping pong and badminton mixed in. Great exercise and a fun game. Some basic skills that are covered in class include: Posture, Ready Position, Grip/Paddle angle, Comfort zone, Dinks, Footwork for dinks, Push it Forward, Keep it Low, Scoring, 2 bounce rule, Forehand and backhand shots, 3rd shot drop, Lobs, Overheads, Court Positioning, Serve and Return of Serve.     PICKLEBALL CLINIC-BEGINNER PLUS
    Have you taken our beginner Pickleball Clinic or do have a little playing experience? If you already know how to keep score, rotate, serve and have some gaming experience but need to improve your game and skills, this is the class for you!

    PICKLEBALL SKILLS AND DRILLS CHALLENGE
    This fun class is designed to take your skills to a new level through a variety of drills. Practicing these techniques can only add to your playing skills. Each week sets a new challenge and will help your skills in dinking, 3rd shot drop, lobs, forehand and backhand and serving. Equipment provided or bring your own.

    OPEN PICKLEBALL
    Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball in the style of tennis with some ping pong and badminton mixed in. Two to four courts are open for drop-in play.     CHAIR YOGA
    Practice yoga using your breath and body postures to improve balance, posture, strength, range of motion and mindfulness. All options will be presented for each individual’s level of comfort and stability. We will use chairs and the wall. Classes run continuously with very few breaks so join any time. Bring a yoga mat.

    YOGA LEVEL 1-2
    Beginners and experienced yoga practitioners will enjoy classic yoga practices that cultivate strength, flexibility, balance, agility and reduce stress. This class combines slow-flow vinyasa and static holding with alignment. Foster mindfulness and equanimity with breathing techniques. Classes run continuously with very few breaks so join at any time. Bring your own yoga mat.
