    Join us for a full morning of fun! We will create an enjoyable craft and make a delicious recipe from our Wee Gourmets class. A new craft and recipe will be introduced each week of each session. You can take this class for three years and not repeat a craft or recipe. Children take turns bringing a snack and drink to share with their classmates. Note: All recipes are nut free.     One childhood author and book topic will be studied each session. Using verbal skills, children ‘write’ their books by dictating as the teacher writes down their words. Typed pages are illustrated by the children using colorful markers. Instructors work one on one with the children assisting them in getting their verbal thoughts into novel form. Family and friends are invited to join us at our ‘Reading’ as we share our completed novels prior to taking them home. Children take turns bringing a nut-free snack & drink to share with classmates.

    YOGA AND SUPER HERO WORKSHOP
    This exciting workshop is a combination of Yoga and Superhero-themed activities. Participants will enjoy one hour of superhero activities including wearing superhero party masks and temporary tattoos to dress up as a superhero, choosing their own superpowers and making superhero crafts. Afterwards, participants will enjoy one hour of Yoga instruction where they will enhance their flexibility and strength and learn a variety of yoga poses, or mudras while playing fun yoga games. Young children must be fully potty trained. Last day to cancel class is 4/21.

    PRE-KARATE
    In our Pre-Karate safety classes, young children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility. Watch your child’s confidence blossom and their skills improve. Uniforms and belt testing options are available through the ISKC instructor. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuing students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required.

    PARENT/CHILD KARATE
    Parent/Child classes are a great way to spend quality time with your child, while conditioning muscles, developing coordination and improving cardiovascular fitness.     Join us for a non-competitive, skill development program. We will go over the basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, goal tending, and positions. There will be weekly progress on the technical aspects of the game. Proper techniques will be taught while enjoying playing soccer. Our speed and agility training session is built to make our participants faster, stronger, and more agile athletes. We use SKLZ equipment for our class which is highly recommended by multiple coaches and trainers. Games are played at the end of each class.

    BOYS SPRING HOUSE LACROSSE LEAGUE
    Beginners & Experienced, Kindergarten - 8th grade players
    We teach lacrosse with a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship and skill development led by positive coaching where everyone plays. Lacrosse fundamentals, offense, defense and game strategies will be taught. Evaluations for team placement on Jan 12 at Westmont Yard (time TBD).
    Fees include game scheduling, fields, coaches, tournaments, referees & supplies. Uniforms are a separate fee. All dates, fees & info are subject to change.

    Registration begins December 1, 8:30am, online, fax or mail. Last day of registration without a late fee is December 15 at 11:59pm. Starting December 16 late fee of $50.
    Cancellation fee before first day of practice: $150. After the first day of practice, no refunds for cancellations. No exceptions.

    Monday, December 2, 6:00-8:30 pm In-person registration, uniform sizing, spirit wear, helmet stickers, volunteer signup, and meet the coaches at Recreation Center, 1500 Walker St.

    REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, lacrosse or hockey helmet with face guard; shoulder pads, elbow pads, lacrosse gloves, and cup. For information on our limited supply of rental equipment, contact Mike at mkenny@wsprings.com.

    SPRING INTRODUCTION TO BOYS LACROSSE-BEGINNERS CLINIC
    Kindergarten - 8th Grade
    Introduces and develops basic skills using fun games and coaching techniques. We will use a soft ball. Players can bring their own stick or we will have sticks available. No other equipment necessary.
    Registrations after April 1 will incur a late fee of $25. No refunds after April 5. No exceptions.

This program is a great way to get acclimated with the premier basketball program of Western Springs at a young age. Designed for pre-school & kindergarten age children, these 45 min clinics will provide a comfortable and fun group environment as participants learn the fundamentals of basket-ball. Each session will be overseen and run by a certified CSB Trainer and focus on learning the game, skill development, and providing a structured, engaging environment to the children excited about the game!

    The Ballerz workouts will be run by CSB elite trainers to ensure that the experience for your developing basketball player is positive and fun. In these formative years it is extremely imperative that your child receives the best teachers and learn the proper fundamentals in order to excel quicker.     PEEWEE VOLLEYBALL
    This is an introductory class for children in 1st-3rd grade. The lesson plan introduces the pass, set and spike using a very light volleyball. This class will improve each child’s hand-eye coordination and left/right coordination through the use of fun drills and games. Lesson plan also incorporates short educational drills including spelling, math and science.

    JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL SKILLS & DRILLS
    Improve your volleyball skills with 60 minutes of drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. The lesson plan directs the use of self-mastery training and groups that help each student reach a new level. You will also develop a good understanding of each position on offense and defense. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class.

    For the child who dreams of being on the cheerleading squad! Experienced coaches will focus on the sport by teaching cheerleading skills that are fun, safe and fundamental. Program also includes drills to enhance cheerleading techniques, body balance movements, timing, rhythm, pompom bebop dance, jumps, stunts, cheers, rah-rah awareness and sportsmanship.     CITY ENGINEERS & ARCHITECTS SPRING BREAK LEGO CAMP
    Explore the structures and landscapes of a city: Campers will work in teams to design and build the city of their dreams, using LEGO® bricks! The architects may plan a road, propose a monument, design a park or school, or imagine a skyscraper. Builders will put on their "safety hats" and assemble motorized models of construction vehicles & equipment, emergency vehicles, playground & amusement park rides and much more! Using our proprietary kits and model plans, campers will construct one-of-a-kind LEGO® City models using LEGO® bricks! Our specialized model plans incorporate beams, gears, axles, motors, battery packs and other technic LEGO® components. Learn what it takes to become a LEGO® City planner!

    This class will focus on safety and skills preparation for the first two weeks and also prior to games. Players will learn football through fundamentals and experience individual and team competitive drills to develop skills. Beginning in week 3, 55-minute football games will be played. Coaches will prepare football plays in huddles and participants will gain confidence in making plays safely and skillfully.     Want to wield a sword? Students will learn the basics of attack and defense of fencing with moves and strategies that create the foundation for your game. Each class will have instruction and bouting (actual fencing). All equipment provided. We have family-friendly classes for both beginners and advanced. Fencing is statistically the most safe and least injurious sport as dictated by the Olympic Committee! So come as a family and have a surprisingly fun and memorable time!
