    270244 - LACROSSE-GIRLS

    GIRLS SPRING 2018 LACROSSE LEAGUE
BE PART OF A YOUTH LACROSSE LEAGUE EXCLUSIVELY FOR GIRLS! The emphasis of this program is to develop the girl within the sport of lacrosse. The goals of the program are to understand the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and foster personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. IGLA has adopted the US Lacrosse "Player First" Athlete Development Model which means smaller fields and a smaller number of players. Kids are more engaged, get more touches on the ball, and further develop their skills. Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association www.iglax.org runs the league, schedules games and hires high school lacrosse coaches.

In the spring, IGLA offers two levels of league play: Pink and Purple. Both are recreational, community lacrosse. Pink teams practice once a week. Purple teams practice twice a week and may travel more for games. If considering Purple, players must first attend an assessment (visit iglax.org for dates and locations) where participants are assessed on stick skills and game play. Current Purple players do not need to attend an assessment and can register directly for the league. All dates, fees & info are subject to change.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Stick, Goggles and mouth guard. LEAGUE UNIFORM: IGLA pinny is required and may be purchased during registration at www.iglax.org

FOR MORE INFORMATION on girls house lacrosse, email Kelly at kletten@wsprings.com. Or visit www.westernspringslacrosse.org or www.iglax.org for more information about our program.

    6U FUN-DAMENTALS CLINIC (K-1st grade)
Ready to start lacrosse? Join IGLA this spring for a weekly one hour clinic for the younger lacrosse player. These clinics are exclusively for girls in Kindergarten through 1st grade that want to learn the FUNdamentals of lacrosse. The goals of this program are to introduce and develop basic skills using fun games and coaching techniques. Sticks available and soft balls provided. No goggles or mouth guard required.

    WINTER GIRLS LACROSSE SKILLS CAMP
Indoor Play is a different-but equally fun-experience from that of traditional outdoor lacrosse. The field is smaller and faster, and the walls are the boundaries. Indoor winter lacrosse is a perfect way to keep your skills intact between fall and spring, or to try the sport for the first time. IGLA Winter Camps & Clinics are designed for K - 8th graders of all experience levels.
